    Job Description

    The Information Technology Pharmacist , reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

    This position coordinates and maintains Information Technology department computer software and hardware, designs, develops, and installs new software, develops fixes, and enhancements to existing software, and ensures the integrity and completeness of the computer data bases.

    _ Responsibilities:_

    • Ensures the uninterrupted operation of IT Pharmacy related computer systems by developing and documenting operations procedures and overseeing the execution of these procedures.
    • Is available for questions and provides assistance and guidance to IT Pharmacy related computer users.
    • Participates in the evaluation of new hardware and software products by interaction with potential vendors and evaluating technical product information.
    • Creates and prepares graphs, tables or reports for management by designing and executing programs and by using the graphics, query, and reporting capabilities resident on the system.
    • Designs and developments new software and makes modifications to existing software to facilitate and support efficient department operations.
    • Documents occurrences of hardware malfunction and processing errors, provides immediate resolution, and assists in the development of long-term solutions.
    • Assists with the design, development and installation of interfaces between departmental systems and between departmental systems and other hospital systems. Works with the hospital information systems staff and other hospital departments as required.
    • Serves as liaison between information systems and Pharmacy department in matters pertaining to the ongoing, efficient operation of the pharmacy software that resides in the Information Systems Department.
    • Understands the business and clinical processes used by the department and their interaction with other institutional processes and systems.
    • Acts as a drug information resource for Information Technology department personnel.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    _ Required:_

    • Registered Pharmacist in the State of Illinois
    • Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy. B.S. Pharmacy.
    • Registered Pharmacist

    _ Preferred:_

    • Previous pharmacy or health care experience.
    • Knowledge of Financial Accounting and Auditing practices.
    • 1-2 years of information technology experience.
