    JOB PURPOSE:

    This role requires initiative and the ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse, and dynamic environment. Serve as a Jr. Administrator in the area of System & Network Administration for mission critical business systems, and for providing day to day operational support for the enterprise data network's access layer, as well as designing and testing new core and access layer network configurations. Position requires collaboration with Senior Engineers for system & network configuration, administration, patching, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and implementation of best practices as they relate to server and networking infrastructure.

    Essential Functions:
    Systems Administration

    • Perform troubleshooting, technical support, and maintenance of server operating systems, applications and hardware.

    • Resolves elevated Help Desk incidents, change management requests, or problem tickets as assigned.

    • Administration of Information Technology related Infrastructure to meet business growth requirements.

    • Develop, implement, and maintain technical solutions based on business and end-user requirements, using established change control process.

    • Perform preventative maintenance including backups and patching of all IT systems as required

    • Conduct or assist with technical and business analysis of new products and systems

    • Assesses utilization trends and make appropriate design and implementation recommendations to scale the architecture.

    • Assists in the planning and management of all aspects of Network and Telephony projects.

    • Leads problem solving efforts involving vendors and internal staff.

    • Ensures networks are highly available and meet the performance requirements of the business.

    • Develops procedures and standards for supporting the organizations IT Infrastructure.

    • Stays current with technological developments and provides recommendations about how the organization can benefit from new technology solutions.

    • On-Call and after hours support of Systems and Network Infrastructure. Other job duties when expected

    Network Administration:

    • Manages LAN/WAN hardware equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and wireless network equipment.
    • Responsible for implementation, planning and capacity management of the telecommunications environment.
    • Establishes operational best practices and standard operating procedures for deployment, support, break-fix, and management of the company network.
    • Holds vendors & telecom carriers accountable to resolve systemic issues, bugs and abnormally high failure rates.

    Required Experience

    QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field.
    • A minimum of 2 years supporting an enterprise systems and network environment.
    • Working knowledge of PCs, Servers, Operating Systems, Active Directory, Backups, VMware, SharePoint, Exchange, Citrix, scripting (VBS, PowerShell), LANs, WANs, MPLS, VOIP and SIP, Routing Protocols, and QOS is required.
    • TCP/IP, BGP, OSFP, MPLS, IPSEC, and other networking protocols.
    • Knowledge of networking hardware including Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, application acceleration and management platforms required.
    • VMware administration
    • Storage (SAN, NAS, DAS) experience preferred
    • System security best practices
    • Knowledge of Industry best practices & frameworks (Active Directory, Group Policy, Scripting, Exchange etc.)
    • Ability to monitor, troubleshoot and maintain systems, networks, to ensure efficient operations
    • Working knowledge of protocol analyzers and network monitoring software preferred.
    • Specific knowledge of load balancing platforms such as F5 and Citrix preferred.
    • Plans, documents, and tests upgrades, patches and backup/recovery plans for systems and networking infrastructure.
    • Develop documentation of systems, policies and procedures
    • Effective time management skills, and an interest in Project Management.
    • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining simple procedures both verbally and in writing.
    • Strong work ethic and self-motivated
    • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group consisting of executives, managers, and co-workers.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with frequently changing priorities, in a fast-paced environment.
    • Able to think quickly, assess a situation and make a sound decision in complex environments.
