    Job Description

    A Brief Overview

    The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler coordinates, plans and schedules the work orders through the Enterprise Asset Management System (Maximo) through knowledge and skills determine the most efficient and optimal way for maintenance shops to perform the work. This position is also responsible for coordinating and communicating between the customer and maintenance shop(s) to address the requests with an emphasis of setting up, configuring and managing Maximo. The primary component is planning, scheduling and routing the tasks/requests to the appropriate trade, shop and/or individual who can best address the problem. Another primary focus will be managing the content of the job and PM tasks so they incorporate the correct and most efficient means of performing the task; outlining the required materials and tools needed; and describing the appropriate regulatory methods needed to perform the tasks.

    What you will do

    • Manages Maximo system access and configuration including addition of new assets and locations.
    • Routes requests to the appropriate individual and/or shop(s) based on availability, workload and skill. Uses Maximo to plan & schedule operations and maintenance work activities in a manner that ensures resources like coordination of manpower, parts, materials, equipment access are effectively allocated to support applicable phases of operations.
    • Take responsibility for the Maximo database and data integrity.
    • Visit the job site of all new maintenance work orders (as needed) including preventive maintenance to confirm scope of work and develop a preliminary estimate of labor and material requirements. Maintain, plan and schedule maintenance work for all maintenance shifts.
    • Develops procedures (Work Plan/Job Plan) steps for work orders and identify job safety (LOTO) and regulatory approval requirements (PCRA/ICRA/USR).
    • Follows up on activities to monitor, document and analyze results. Perform analysis of work and reports on KPls; interpret data and recommend findings.
    • Prepares reports identifying work in the queue and backlog. Assists in managing staffing capacity and workload to ensure resources are used effectively and efficiently.
    • Holds weekly planning/scheduling meeting and communicate planning & scheduling information to the Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer and Superintendents to confirm work planning & Scheduling to prioritize work.

     

    Education Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

     

    Experience Qualifications

    • Two (2) years of experience with facilities that require strict planning and scheduling protocols for operations and maintenance.
    • Prior EAMS/Maximo experience and associated software experience is required.

     

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Functional knowledge & understanding of Maximo V7.X environment.
    • Functional understanding of all Maximo modules - assets, work orders, service request, inventory, reporting including BIRT.
    • Knowledge of Maximo integration with other applications.
    • Ability to read and interpret instructions
    • Ability to research and interpret relevant regulations, guidelines, and standards
    • Ability to strategize, plan and implement change
    • Ability to work effectively both as a team player and leader and shall demonstrate skills in leadership, communications collaboration, and teamwork
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Knowledge and understanding of financial and statistical activity reports
    • Experience with data analysis in the maintenance program, specifically in asset management and spare part optimization.
    • Knowledge of automated materials management functions
    • Knowledge of building systems to include but not be limited to mechanical; electrical; plumbing; fire life safety
    • Knowledge of record keeping techniques and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
