    Job Description:

    We are searching for a full-time Data Scientist located in Portland, OR or Cambridge, MA. Full-remote positions are also acceptable within the United States.

    As a Data Scientist, you will be part of a growing interdisciplinary team and will work closely with other world-class engineers to build, test, and deploy cutting-edge algorithms and model to the cloud. We are looking for someone who loves optimization, working with complex systems and building products that directly impact our. The responsibilities and qualifications of the position include:

    Responsibilities

    • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
    • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
    • Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
    • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
    • Be the "glue" between our research, product and engineering team by advising/designing features from product inception to delivery.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • 4+ years experience working as a product focused Data Scientist.
    • Experience querying databases and using statistical computer languages: R, Python, SLQ, etc.
    • Experience using cloud services: Redshift, S3, Spark, DigitalOcean, etc.
    • Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
    • Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills, a strong desire to learn, be self-directed, and be motivated to work in a fast paced start-up environment.
