    Innovatus Technology Consulting is an established government and commercial consulting firm with over ten years of experience providing expert technology frameworks, products, and services to achieve mission success. We are looking for a Top Secret / SCI-cleared Endpoint Security Services (ESS) Infrastructure IT Consultant to support network security system and virtualization operational assurance and maintenance for a renowned research institution contract at a secure government site.

    As part of the evolution of holistic approaches to conducting cybersecurity network defense, the chosen person would ideally be knowledgeable regarding microsegmentation (possibly NSX) tools and techniques on the market, and be predominantly skilled at virtualization, working with HP Hardware NetApps and be responsible for VMware day-to-day operational assurance and maintenance activities alongside another cybersecurity infrastructure professional.

    This is a long-term position that can lead to several years of job security in this role as well as job advancement within our organization.

    Key tasks of responsibility for the ESS Infrastructure IT Consultant:

    • Assure server and system operations on hardware provided by the Government.
    • Share the load with another operator-maintainer and collaborate on resolving issues.
    • Install, configure and manage VMware virtualization environment components (vSphere, vRA, vROPS, ESX, NSX).
    • Provide Operation and Sustainment support for the virtualization environment.
    • Ensure virtualization systems are compliant within required security standards.
    • Develop and maintain O&S Standard Operating Procedures for VMware environment.
    • Support diagnoses and troubleshooting of problems with the virtualization environment including Microsoft Windows and Linux O/S systems.
    • Within established procedures, responds to end user requests for technical assistance.
    • Support the Certification and Accreditation process for virtualization hosts.
    • Gain familiarity with current data center infrastructure.
    • Maintain current industry knowledge of development concept, practices and procedures
    • Develop in-depth understanding of ITEMS DCS baseline capabilities, design and objectives.
    • Hands-on experience designing and implementing vROPS and/or Log Insight in a production environment, to include developing policies and custom dashboards.
    • Interface via meetings and regular communications with engineers as well as cybersecurity professionals from the research institution, and other on-site stakeholders
    • Professional on-site presence and meeting of scheduling expectations for a full-time position

    CREDENTIALS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB: TOP SECRET / SCI CLEARANCE REQUIRED, AND:

    • CCNA, CCIE, or other advanced network security credential e.g., CCNP

    • Advanced information security certification credentials at least at the IAT II level

    • At least seven years’ cybersecurity experience supporting the federal government

    • At least five years’ experience with VMware and VCP6-DCV certificate

    • Expert Knowledge of HA, DRS, and Storage DRS

    • Intermediate Experience with PowerCLI and Scripting

    • Experience with ESXi Hardening (STIG Compliance)

    • Experience with Managing Multiple vCenters (VCSA experience required)

    • Familiarity with vSphere VM replication, SRM, Log Insight (or Splunk), and vROPs

    • Significant Experience with an Enterprise Monitoring Ticketing System

    • Demonstrated analytic problem-solving ability

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information security or similar (preferred)
