    Our client is a Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Multi-Omics CRO services provider based in the Bay Area. The company was founded by former Illumina scientists and offers comprehensive services across the entire NGS workflow and the related bioinformatics. They’ve expanded to also incorporating novel technologies such as Single-Cell, Spatial Transcriptomics, Epigenetics, Proteomics, and Histopathology.

    This small company has grown significantly by word of mouth and is chosen by customers for their scientific expertise, white glove service, and fast turnaround times. Our client is creating a new initiative to take business to the next level, and this is an exciting opportunity to make an impact and join as a cornerstone hire for the commercial organization.

     

    About the Position

    This is an office-based role in Fremont, CA.

    The Inside Sales Manager (ISM) will play a critical role within the sales organization in implementing and executing effective sales strategies and processes to ensure commercial success. The ISM will lead by example in this player/coach manager role and will be responsible for building, coaching, and leading a team of Inside Sales Representatives. The ISM will encourage their team and be driven to meet and exceed individual and company revenue goals through prospecting, hunting, account management, and managing the entirety of the sales cycle through to the close of contract. The ISM will have a data driven approach to set sales metrics and will leverage the CRM as a true sales assistant tool.

    As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the ISM will report key sales metrics during management meetings, provide sales leadership presence during client meeting, serve as the voice of customer, and can execute their vision to take the commercial organization to the next level. The ISM will be a collaborative team player and will partner with marketing to help create sales and marketing tools and collateral. This ISM will have an entrepreneurial mindset, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and be motivated to help support the success of this growing company.

     

    About the Requirements

    • 1 to 3+ years of experience in an Inside Sales Leadership or Management role is ideal, or experience serving in an Inside Sales Lead capacity
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in genomics, molecular biology, or a closely related scientific field
    • Strong genomics/omics background and technical knowledge
    • Hunter sales mentality with an innate desire to win and meet and exceed sales quotas
    • Strong sales process, funnel management, and forecasting skills
    • Adept at executing and coaching on all aspects of the sales cycle, from prospecting and hunting for new opportunities through to the close of the contract and ongoing account management
    • Values in person coaching and leadership and tailors approach to the needs of the individual and organization
    • Data driven mindset and process driven approach to determine and track sales metrics and ensure consistent CRM documentation and maintenance
    • Collaborative team player that works well with cross-functional teams
    • Self-motivated and eager to learn and advance beyond this role into senior level leadership roles
    • Field travel is estimated at ~10%
