What You'll Do
We're seeking an Institutional Support Coordinator to play a key role in Balanced's Institutional Support Program. Reporting to the Institutional Support Manager and Executive Director, this position will help lead efforts to assist institutions—particularly school districts—in creating healthier, more sustainable menus. This includes providing technical support to food service professionals, building relationships with institutional stakeholders, and ensuring the successful implementation of plant-based meal options.
This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful, tangible impact on public health, environmental sustainability, and the lives of communities across the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Build Partnerships : Support the Institutional Support Manager in developing and managing relationships with food service professionals at schools, hospitals, universities, and other key institutions.
- Menu Design Support : Collaborate with partner institutions to help source and redesign menus, focusing on increasing fiber-rich, plant-forward, and plant-based meal options.
- Marketing and Promotion : Assist institutions in promoting healthier, plant-rich menus by creating public-facing content such as posters, flyers, and educational materials, as well as digital media resources.
- Training Resources : Contribute to the development of training materials and resources to guide food service professionals and institutions in adopting healthier food practices.
- Research and Expansion : Help expand Balanced's Institutional Support network by identifying and researching new partnership opportunities with schools, universities, hospitals, other institutions, and non-profit organizations.
- Vendor Directory Management : Support expansion of Balanced's Plant-Based Vendor Directory by identifying new vendors, maintaining relationships with existing vendors, and connecting institutions to this resource.

Compensation and Benefits
