Instructional Coach
Reports To:
Elementary and Middle/High School Supervisors
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and Five Years of teaching experience
- Proficiency with Curriculum Software
- Communicates well both orally and in writing
- Experience in research-based instructional practices
Purpose Statement:
The Instructional Coaches will assist Central Office staff and school administrators in providing researched based, best instructional practices to teachers in Hawkins County Schools.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the intellectual and professional development of teachers
- Communicate and demonstrate research-based instructional practices that result in increased student performance
- Support new teachers
- Provide staff development
- Be available to school administrators to analyze data
- Be proficient on the student Universal Screener and the RTI process
- Attend trainings and return to share information with teachers and administrators
- Act as a resource person to teachers
- Supports the curriculum development process
- Be well versed in research pertaining to best instructional strategies
- Serve on RTI District Committee
- Serve on individual school Student Support Committees
- Assist the Elementary and Middle/High School Supervisors in disseminating information into the schools
- Monitor intervention programs by observing and meeting with teacher
Capacity and Ability Requirements:
The usual job demands require the following physical requirements: some lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, some stooping, kneeling, and physical dexterity.
Terms of Employment:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
