Job Summary
Beyond Karate is excited to launch new creative workshops that celebrate cultures from around the world and those native to our land. These workshops introduce students to global cuisines, music, dance, and handcrafts. We are seeking passionate instructors to join our team!
If you’re passionate about teaching and dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children, teens, and adults, this opportunity is for you. The ideal candidates will have experience working with youth and a strong commitment to growing our program while creating exceptional experiences. An understanding of world cultures, or a desire to learn, is essential. You will plan and deliver curriculum tailored to students of varying abilities, including those with developmental disabilities, while fostering creativity, care, and FUN!
Responsibilities
Lead or assist in weekly workshop sessions (Wednesdays 4pm for Music/Movement, and/or Thursdays 4pm for Ethnic Cooking).
Plan and execute curriculum tailored to students' abilities, including those with developmental disabilities.
Manage supplies within budget.
Collaborate with assistants and ensure students, including those accompanied by adult support persons, receive the support they need.
Set up and clean up workshop spaces before and after each session.
Maintain a positive, fun, and encouraging attitude; providing excellent customer service.
Adhere to all health and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
Teaching experience, particularly with children and adults.
Experience working with neurodiverse individuals with developmental disabilities.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and think creatively.
CPR/First Aid certification (required before the first day of employment).
Positive, professional demeanor with leadership capabilities.
Ability to stand for extended periods and manage multiple tasks.
