The position involves upgrading and maintaining both new and existing electrical systems, managing instrumentation and programming on production equipment, and occasionally leading small work crews. It also includes support for mechanical or fabrication projects as needed.
• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems to minimize downtime.
• Upgrade and add new electrical systems, including conduit installation, wiring, and termination.
• Inspect newly installed and existing equipment to ensure work is completed safely and correctly.
• Perform programming and maintenance on all production equipment, including PLC installations, upgrades, and HMI management.
• Maintain backup programs for processors and HMIs.
• Plan and execute projects with minimal guidance.
• Lead small work crews during periods of heavy repair or maintenance.
• Assist in mechanical or fabrication projects when necessary.
• Order parts and supplies as needed.
• Adhere to safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, and manage physically demanding tasks (e.g., repetitive lifting up to 40–50 lbs independently, and over 50 lbs with assistance or mechanical aid).
• Must hold a State of Michigan Electrical License as a Journeyman or Master Electrician.
• Preferably a minimum of 5 years of industrial electrical experience.
• Experience with industrial systems including motor control, relay logic, PLC logic, and computer-based process control.
• Familiarity with Allen Bradley Rockwell software (Logix 500, RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, Factory Talk View).
• Prior experience with EtherNet/IP linking devices and Connected Components Workbench is preferred; training may be provided if required.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work.
• Experience with acetylene cutting torches and welding is preferred.
• Must demonstrate safe work practices at heights and proper use of all required PPE.
