In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of electrical and instrumentation systems. Your work will ensure that essential equipment operates safely and efficiently within a manufacturing environment.
* Diagnose and resolve issues with electrical circuits, instrumentation, valves, disconnects, starters, and related components.
* Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and reassemble systems such as automatic valves, motors, and hydraulic/pneumatic assemblies.
* Measure, cut, bend, and install conduits, fittings, and tubing for equipment setups and upgrades.
* Install and maintain electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, and cable assemblies (including fiber optic and coaxial cables).
* Implement lockout/tagout procedures to ensure equipment is safely de-energized before maintenance.
* Collaborate with other trades during new installations or replacements while following all applicable safety guidelines and standards (e.g., OSHA, confined space, hot work, and working at heights procedures).
* Retrieve and apply information from safety documents such as operating instructions, MSDS, and procedural manuals to maintain a secure work environment.
* Utilize precision measuring and testing instruments to identify and correct malfunctions, including issues with control systems.
* Support emergency operations by being available for extended shifts when required.
* A minimum of five years’ experience in electrical and instrumentation work, or an Associate’s degree in Instrumentation, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
* A high school diploma or GED is required.
* Ability to interpret technical documents such as schematics, safety guidelines, maintenance manuals, and manufacturer’s literature.
* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision testing equipment.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with a basic proficiency in computer applications.
* Physical ability to work in environments with high ambient temperatures (up to 100°F) while wearing protective gear, including climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting within OSHA guidelines.
* Flexibility to work overtime and extended shifts during emergency repairs.
