    Mental Health Intake and Prior Authorization Coordinator

    Community Psychiatric Institute, a leader in Behavioral Healthcare and Chemical Dependency treatment in Essex County for over 53 years, has an opening for a Full-time Intake Coordinator/Prior Authorization Coordinator for our Partial Care, IOP and O.P. adult treatment programs.

    We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate mental health professional to join our team.

    HOURS : Full-time

    MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS Required :

    Master’s Degree in Behavioral Health preferred (or working towards Masters - Educational Supervision available)

    Licensed Mental Health professional experienced with Substance Abuse & Co-occurring clients (LPC, LSW, LCADC or other license in related field preferred.)

    Experience performing intakes and assessments.

    2+ years experience working with co-occurring populations.

    Experienced in the prior authorization approval process & insurance.

    Strong communication and writing skills.

    JOB DESCRIPTION :

    The Mental Health Intake & Prior Authorization Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating new patient intake evaluations in addition to coordinating prior authorizations for treatment services with a range of insurance companies.

    The coordinator will be the point of contact for Hospital discharges and referrals and facilitate the intake process for all patients.

    Perform Intakes and Assessments for mentally ill, substance abuse and co-occurring consumers as required by State regulations.

    Complete NJSAMS as needed.

    Contact Medicaid MCO's and other commercial insurance companies for Prior Authorizations.

    Facilitate communication with community agencies and hospitals regarding our treatment program.

    Serve as point of contact for referring hospitals, insurance companies & other health care professionals.

    Screening patient clinical records for appropriateness of treatment and working with our nursing staff for medical clearance when appropriate.

    Other Job duties as assigned.
