    Job Overview:

    • We are looking for amazing, caring RNs to provide and coordinate patient care with excellence. They also provide education to patients and the public about illnesses, diseases, and heath conditions. They're licensed medical professionals who work with patients, doctors, and other health care workers. RNs provide high level of direct care to patient and other duties as assigned. The Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care. Working within the fast-paced environment of the ICU, the RN provides expert nursing care to critically ill patients, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met while upholding the standards.

    Experience Requirements:

    • A minimum of 3 years of recent experience surpassing 3 years.
    • A solid foundation in critical care nursing is essential. This includes experience in assessing and caring for critically ill patients, managing complex medical conditions, and responding effectively to emergencies
    • ICU RN must be through interview assessments of patients’ conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms and neurological status.
    • Continuously monitoring and evaluating patient response to treatment interventions.
    • Proficiency in ACLS protocols is crucial for managing cardiac emergencies and providing advanced life support interventions in the ICU setting.
    • Proficiency in administering a wide range of medications, including vasoactive agents, sedatives, and analgesics
    • Must have strong experience understanding medication indications, dosages, and potential adverse effects
    • Experience in managing mechanic ventilation is a key aspect of ICU nursing, including but not limited to-assessing ventilator settings, monitoring patient responses, and troubleshooting ventilator-related issues.
    • Must have the ability to respond swiftly and effectively to medical emergencies, such as cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, or severe sepsis
    • Maintain proficiency in advanced life support techniques and respond swiftly to changes in patients’ conditions
    • Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and social workers to develop and implement comprehensive care plans
    • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless coordination of patient care
    • Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in electronic health records

     

    Experience Preferences:

    • Resumes demonstrating experience of more than 3 years or prior experience working for the VA may receive a more favorable rating.

    Education Requirements:

    • Current, valid, and unrestricted state license for Registered Nurse.
    • All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification, degrees, and/or licenses must be always kept up to date. The Contractor shall provide documentation verifying current certification to the VA COR upon request.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are required.

    Schedule:

    • The Registered Nurses shall perform on-site nursing services for varying periods of time in various areas of the Medical Center and based on their qualifications, may be required to work in areas of the highest need on the date of their scheduled shifts.
    • Coverage may include weekends, federal holidays, days, evenings, or overnights, and are variable within a 24-hour period.

      RNs shall be required to work any regular or irregular tour, with 8-hour and 12-hour tours typically being:

      8 Hour Tour:

    • Day: 7:30AM - 4:00PM
    • Evening: 3:30PM - 12AM
    • Night: 11:30AM - 8:00AM

            12 Hour Tour:

    • Day: 7:00AM - 7:30PM
    • Night: 7:00PM - 7:30AM
