    Organization Overview:

Brothers Building a Better Nation (BBABN) is a mission-driven nonprofit based in Newark, NJ, dedicated to dismantling systemic barriers that impact the emotional and social development of BIPOC youth and families. We deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive mental health services rooted in community connection and healing justice. We specialize in male mental health and therapy. As a growing provider within the New Jersey Children’s System of Care (CSOC), BBABN offers flexible, high-impact work that allows clinicians to serve youth and families where they are—literally and emotionally.

    Position Summary:

BBABN is seeking passionate, committed, and culturally competent Intensive In-Community (IIC) Therapists to join our clinical team. In this role, therapists provide in-home and community-based mental health counseling to youth up to age 21 who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, or relational challenges. The IIC Therapist collaborates with Care Management Organizations (CMOs), Mobile Response teams (MRSS), and other Child-Family Team (CFT) members to stabilize youth in their homes and communities.

    Key Responsibilities:

Conduct in-home or community-based individual, family, and/or caregiver therapy sessions.

Complete biopsychosocial assessments and develop Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) in compliance with CSOC standards.

Actively participate in Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings to coordinate care with MRSS, CMOs, and other stakeholders.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the CYBER system (progress notes, treatment plans, communication logs, etc.).

Use trauma-informed, strengths-based, culturally competent interventions to promote emotional regulation, healthy relationships, and functional coping strategies.

Maintain regular communication with clinical supervisors, case managers, and agency support staff.

Adhere to Medicaid, CSOC, and agency documentation and billing policies.

    Required Qualifications:

Active NJ clinical or pre-clinical license: LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LSW, or LAC.

Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Therapists must be able to travel to clients’ homes and community-based settings across Essex County and surrounding areas.

Experience working with children, youth, and families in a therapeutic capacity.

Strong understanding of trauma, cultural humility, family systems, and community-based interventions.

Familiarity with CSOC, PerformCare, and the CYBER platform (preferred but not required).

    Compensation & Work Structure:

Hourly pay: $70 – $80/hour based on licensure and experience.

    Benefits & Support:

Clinical supervision for LSWs and LACs seeking clinical licensure.
