    Interior Designer Level I/II/III

    MWA, Inc. - Truckee, CA office is seeking a well-rounded and self-motivated applicant for immediate placement as a Interior Designer Level I/II/III. The Interior Designer Level I/II/III will contribute strong organizational, creative, and technical skills for projects of all sizes and levels of complexity from concept to completion. This role requires strong communication skills, previous knowledge of the interior design industry, attention to detail, and the ability to translate client requirements into innovative and functional design solutions.

    Candidate requirements

    MS, BS, or BA Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or similar.

    3-9 years of experience in the field with knowledge of single-family residential design and familiarity with commercial and institutional design.

    Experience managing all phases of the interior design process – including FF&E and experience on construction sites.

    Proficient in computer-aided drawing, presentation tools, and software such as Revit, Excel, Word, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, and interior design procurement software (such as Studio Designer or similar) required.

    Comfortable with design principles, including preparation of digital and physical presentation materials.

    Good understanding of interior design specifications, calculations, and industry standards.

    Ability to identify and provide solutions for design problems that arise during design and/or construction with assistance/review by Senior Interior Designer.

    Able to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels of the company as well as outside agencies, contractors, consultants, and clients. Close attention to detail and organization.

    Experience collaborating within an architecture firm a plus.

    Requirements

    Physical Body Positions and Movements: Standing, kneeling, bending and sitting for long periods of time. Carrying, use of hands, arms, legs, eyes, ears and voice. Must be able to negotiate rugged terrain on foot.

    Physical Appearance: Must be presentable.

    Mental: Good design and problem solving skills.

    Language requirements are reading, writing, spelling and ability to communicate clearly in English. Ability to respond effectively to inquiries and complaints.

    Interior Design

    Work under the direction of senior-level interior designers.

    Drafting and 3D modeling of Interior Design plans and documents.

    Generate architectural concepts for interior projects, including material, such as furniture and equipment planning, special design concepts and requirements, floor plan analysis, assessment of existing conditions, integrated structural components, and lighting/electrical/av concept coordination.

    Research and select colors/finishes/materials. Actively maintain finish schedules and other necessary forms of documentation.

    Liaise with the project manager, architects, and consultants. Including vendor quoting as needed.

    Participate actively in preparing and presenting client meeting materials.

    When available, may be asked to assist or collaborate with the architectural team as needed.

    May train and assist other team members as needed.
