    McLennan Contracting was founded in 2003 as a general contracting company run by Tim and Alison McLennan. We have grown to become an award-winning Design-Build remodeling firm comprised of a team of talented and dedicated home remodeling professionals. We specialize in residential bathroom, kitchen, and basement remodeling in Lancaster County, PA. Our Design-Build process is client-focused and prioritizes up-front planning and responsive communication to ensure homeowners get what they want, need, and expect from the remodeling experience.     Summary of Responsibilities

    We are seeking a Project Designer who has the knowledge, skills, and experience to design and document residential remodeling solutions. This person needs to be a professional Interior Designer, well versed in residential building codes, standards, and material applications, and proficient in CAD software. The Project Designer is a skilled sales professional who excels at qualifying prospects, managing expectations, and proposing viable solutions, to ensure we are working on projects we can win in the eyes of the client.

    This is a full-time position. Work is to be performed primarily at our office, located at 780 Eden Rd., Lancaster, PA, or in the field with clients. Some remote work hours may be acceptable after onboarding, providing results are in alignment with position accountabilities.

    Essential Functions

    • Qualify and engage sales prospects through lead intake, in-home consultations, and networking opportunities.
    • Engage with clients to understand needs and develop personalized design solutions.
    • Create innovative, functional design concepts for remodeling projects.
    • Prepare and present design proposals to clients, including detailed drawings, 3D renderings, mood boards, and material samples.
    • Develop comprehensive design documentation, including floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to building codes and regulations.
    • Work with internal and third-party team members to ensure project success.
    • Source materials, fixtures, and finishes aligned with budgetary goals.
    • Adhere to the Project Development schedule, ensuring that designs are completed on time and to the delight of the client.
    • Provide ongoing support and communication to clients and team members throughout the design and construction phases, addressing any questions or concerns.

      Education, Experience, and Skills Required

      • Degree in Interior Design or certification from the NKBA or NCIDQ
      • Minimum 3 years’ experience in residential interior design or related field
      • Proficient in Google Apps or MS Office Suite, CAD software, such as Chief Architect, 20/20, or SketchUp
      • Active driver's license, safe driving record, and reliable transportation.
      • Available for off-hour meetings 2x per week
