Job Description

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for our Spokane Office with a primary focus on supporting our water and wastewater related projects and Civil team. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated team player, looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm.

We are looking for someone who works effectively with all personality types, is interested in being mentored by senior engineers in water and wastewater systems, and who desires to grow professionally and stay involved in the activities and exciting trends in the industry. We work in tight-knit teams that support each other and are managed with a healthy work-life balance that is focused on development and caring for the whole person.

• Learn the responsibilities of an engineer
• Learn and use Coffman’s spreadsheets and other engineering software to aid on project analysis and design
• Participate in project team meetings and Monday morning civil staff meetings
• Training by experienced AutoCAD Civil 3D designer in CAD and use of AutoCAD Civil 3D on project assignments; incorporate engineer markups into CAD files
• Travel to project sites to learn about site and construction progress analysis with an experienced engineer

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a full-time student in a civil engineering program at a nationally recognized, accredited college
• Two years of required courses completed towards an undergraduate civil engineering degree preferably with interest in one or more of the following subjects: fluids, water resources, water & wastewater treatment, hydraulics, and hydrology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of Computer-Aided Drafting, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, is a plus

No paid interview travel or relocation expenses are offered for this position.

Expected Hourly Rate $22.00-24.00
