    Position: **** Intern – Strategic and Long Range Planning

    The Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) is a regional planning agency serving greater Cleveland. As the region's Metropolitan Planning Organization and Areawide Water Quality Management Agency, NOACA conducts transportation and environmental planning for a five-county region that is home to 2.1 million people and includes the counties of Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, and Medina.

    Job Description: The Strategic and Long Range Planning Intern is a temporary position that is responsible for learning and applying the skills needed to perform and assist other staff members with assigned tasks. The position will conduct research, planning, and/or evaluation activities in support of Vibrant NEO 2040, Northeast Ohio's 12-county regional visioning framework, and NOACA's Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) program. This is a part-time position, working 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, for a 12-month duration from date of hire.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Undergraduate student of junior or senior status or Master's Degree student enrolled in accredited program for urban planning, public administration, public policy, economic development, real estate development, sustainability, or related field
    • Experience conducting general research
    • Experience performing qualitative and quantitative data gathering and analysis
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software
    • Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS) software
    • Familiarity with Microsoft powerpoint or other presentation applications
    • Willingness to demonstrate initiative and interest in learning new skills
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

    Compensation & Benefits

    • $17.00 - $20.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and level of education
    • Enrollment in Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) pension program
    • Participation in NOACA's monthly transit pass subsidy program
