    Position Summary

    In this highly visible grant funded role, the successful candidate will be responsible for working with internal candidates via the Steps for Success program. You will get to coach, recruit, interview, and select qualified internal candidates for positions. You will also develop and implement marketing strategies and act as the internal consultant to departments regarding staffing concerns, policies, and procedures. You will prepare metrics and reports for the department, as well as provide invaluable assistance to multiple NYU Langone Health departments to fill critical vacancies with internal talent.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversees the recruitment process, including sourcing; screening; credentialing; and evaluating internal candidates, verifying requirements are met regarding previous education and experience for positions that the specialist recruits for, including managerial-level positions.
    • Oversees the move process for transfers, including reviewing transfer eligibility status and verification of license, education, and experience to meet minimal qualifications.
    • Program development/implementation of internal talent programs to attract viable internal candidates. Utilizes effective recruitment techniques, developing long-term relationships with internals to broaden talent pool.
    • Researches alternative resources that help target active/passive internal candidates, such as social media and internal email blasts, and maintains effective recruitment literature.
    • Coordinates and oversees recruitment outreach programs, open houses, career fairs, and related recruitment activities for events within the organization. This includes but is not limited to Internal Meet & Greets, Resume Writing and Interview Etiquette Workshops, and graduate mixers.
    • Works within the internal talent mobility platform to develop a talent community and build strong pipelines of potential internal candidates.
    • Builds strong and effective relationships with department heads to develop marketing strategies and events, to recruit and secure top internal talent.
    • Acts as a consultant and maintains contact with the mission area talent acquisition specialists to determine current and future staffing needs to help build internal pipelines.
    • Provides coaching on different career path opportunities and interview/resume preparation to employees for job referrals and/or counseling. Ensures compliance with policy guidelines concerning the Steps for Success program and documents outcome for each applicant. Works with Workforce Development graduates in placement of new positions. Follows up with each applicant regarding outcome and relays feedback in a constructive manner.
    • Participates in various projects, including creating a network of internal ambassadors, creating content videos, Lunch and Learn programs, tuition assistance events, and cross-campus initiatives. Participates and contributes to the Steps for Success initiatives, derived from the internal talent development committee.
    • Maintains an active awareness of NYU Langone’s commitment to equal employment opportunity.
    • Prepares accurate, thorough, and timely information; turnover analysis studies; and activity reports for areas of responsibility as needed. Composes reports in clear, concise, and timely manner according to pre-set guidelines.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
    • Minimum of three years of recruiting and/or interviewing experience in healthcare.

    Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
    • Proficient in applicant tracking systems
    • Knowledge of PeopleSoft
    • Effective oral, written, and communication skills
    • Effective consultative skills, with the ability to understand the needs and urgency of assigned customer base

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York State Pay Transparency Law. The salary range for the role is $86,190.32 - $112,951.35 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
