    Role Objectives: The Internal Salesperson is responsible for assisting the VP of Sales in executing the sales strategy for Biehl & Co, Carlsen Mooring and Harbor Docking and Towing. This includes communication with customers and related parties, strategic market and target/customer research, conference analysis and attendance, and maintaining the CRM system.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Work with transactional customers to secure and maintain their business

    Capture additional business – cross-sell agency, husbandry and launch services

    Research and identify target companies within key industries

    Identify key contacts and contact details within target companies

    Investigate conferences and potential attendees at conferences

    Maintain the contact and company information within the CRM system and ensure accurate data capture

    Visit local customers (with other members of the sales team)

    Attend local conferences

    Maintain regular contact with the Biehl VP Operations and Port Managers as well as the Carlsen Mooring operations team to ensure a smooth relationship between sales and operations

    Assist in the coordination of meetings and global sales trips

    Work on strategic projects aimed at business expansion, business development and business improvement

    Other tasks and duties as assigned

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    Familiar with the maritime sector and maritime operations

    Adept in sales and relationship management

    Great planning and organizational skills

    Excellent communicator, both orally and in writing

    Strong problem-solving skills

    Competent in the use of computers and computer systems (CRM, MS Office, email, business intelligence systems etc.)

    Competent in math, accounting & statistics

    Competent in presentation generation

    Education/Experience:

    College graduate, ideally from a maritime program preferred

    Minimum 12 months prior experience within the maritime industry – with a vessel owner, fleet management, brokerage, chartering or other

    Or, a minimum 2 years of experience in a logistics related field tied to the maritime industry.

    Physical Requirements:

    Required to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps; reach; stand; walk; talk; and hear

    Must exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects

    Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such as analyzing figures, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection, and using measurement devices

    Worker is subject to environmental conditions both inside and outside, with no effective protection from weather, with sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard, and to physical hazards, such as moving parts, vehicles, electricity, heights, and large bodies of deep water
