     This position will bring leading edge analytical tools (i.e. Artificial Intelligence or Machine learning) to improve decision making, productivity and functional efficiency. The role will implement predictive tools to increase cost competitiveness. Areas of impact spans over three domains: statistical/mathematical reasoning, business communication/leadership, and programming. The person will be tasked with leading data science projects from end to end and leading Global Procurement teams towards being data-driven.

     

    Key responsibilities

    Implement Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning 50%

    • Translate large databases into competitive insights and advantage
    • Organize large data sets to get actionable insights from them. This may include finding innovative ways to combine fields of data that don’t naturally correlate.
    • Create algorithms and programming to efficiently to go through large datasets and apply treatments, filters and conditions to data.
    • Support external partner joint programs to build correlation models. Project management

    Market Intelligence 20%

    • Proactively collect and monitor data from all kinds of different sources, from web APIs, to internal databases encoded in SQL.
    • Analyze data to better understand impact on sourcing.
    • Work closely with the buying organization and Supplier Relationship Management tools/KPI's/data to dynamically use and update all product and supplier data in developing statistical models and algorithms.

           

     Data exploration and drive business impact 10%

    • Run exploratory data analysis so we can navigate a dataset and correlate with some broad conclusions based on some initial appraisal. Synthesize methodology and data into actionable buying strategies with favorable impact on Cost of Goods.    
    • Build robust Analytics and tools 10%
    • Build AI tools and automate applicable processes and analytics to enhance existing Microsoft based analytics

    Required Skills

    • Degree in Applied Math, Economics, Statistics, or other quantitative field.
    • Expert in SQL and other programming languages
    • Expert with statistical software (R/Stata/SAS/Matlab)
    • Expert with Excel & PowerPoint/Keynote
    • 5+ years of work experience involving quantitative data and problem solving
    • Experience with Machine Learning
    • Experience in building algorithms

    Required Experience

    • Masters or Ph.D for listed undergraduate degress listed
    • Experience with Tableau and Python
    • Experience with visualization tools such as Hadoop and Power BI
    • Cost accounting experience
    • Related consulting experience
