Denver, CO

  • Responsibilities

At RXO Freight Forwarding, we proactively manage the challenges of high value, time sensitive and delicate shipments. Our commitment is honesty, integrity, great customer service and no surprises.

Our vision is to provide our team members fun, rewarding work in a "family" environment that gives them the time and money to have the quality of life they want. All team members are Stakeholders, act as if they are owners of the business and share in the company's profits. We are results based and not time based, and all team members are self-managed.

We are currently looking for an International Operations and Customer Service Agent.

The primary duties include providing exceptional service to our customers and working through our vendors to make our promises happen! This involves everything in the entire process of both domestic and international freight forwarding including accurate quoting, arranging, routing, tracking, costing, and rating shipments.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the complete process of domestic and international shipments, including booking, routing, and preparing all necessary documentation.
    • Be the go-to point of contact for customers, providing updates, resolving any issues like delays or damages, and coordinating international logistics to meet deadlines.
    • Organize transportation across all modes (air, sea, land) for domestic and international shipments, ensuring that inventory is managed efficiently and deliveries are made on time.
    • Actively contribute to the improvement of logistics processes, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support the business by managing both routine and urgent shipments effectively.

We might be a good fit if you enjoy:

    • Providing superior service to all our clients. This includes communicating with our customers on the phone and via email, following up to make sure they received what they expected, and making our customers feel good about working with us.
    • Working in a very fast paced environment. It’s not as crazy as an emergency room but things do get hectic! Our loyal customers appreciate our sense of urgency and our aggressiveness towards making sure their shipments are handled properly.
    • Working in ALL areas of the freight forwarding process and not just one cog in the machine.
    • Working with others on a team to accomplish a shared goal.
    • Not knowing exactly what every day will hold.
    • Acting as if you own the company – taking initiative and ownership, having a sense of urgency, making decisions, being proactive, and working with others to constantly make things better.
    • Making sure our customers are never caught off guard.

    Required Skills and Traits:

    • Exceptional customer service with the desire to serve our clients in the best possible manner.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in international freight forwarding (preferably in both import and export as well as both air and ocean).
    • High attention to detail.
    • Sense of urgency.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Can both follow procedures and think outside the box.
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
    • Solid math skills.
    • Comfortable with change and working in unknown situations. Ability to be flexible and adapt as needed.
    • Independent and able to collaborate and be a team player.
    • High level of integrity.
    • Productive and able to aggressively pursue the best options for both our vendors and customers.
    • Creative problem solver.
    • Passionate and self-driven.
    • Positive outlook and a willingness to buy in to what the team is trying to accomplish.
    • Did we mention a sense of urgency?

    Hours, Salary and Benefits:

This is a full-time position, averaging 40 hours most weeks and occasionally (but rarely) 45-50 hours. Scheduled shift is 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. We are a results-based business and not a time-based business. If your work is done for the day, we want you to go home early. No one is “punching a clock” here!

This position offers a competitive base salary of $57,000 - $62,000, with On-Target Earnings (OTE) of $77,000 - $82,000, including bonus. The bonus is based on the company’s financial performance, averages over $20,000 per year, and is paid quarterly. It is designed to reward our team for thinking like business owners, recognizing their contributions to the company’s growth and success.

Health Benefits (after 90 days) are paid at 100% for employees, 401(k) with 3% match and profit sharing. 15 days of PTO, plus your birthday and holidays. Once you are fully trained, you can work remotely some of the time. When you’re at the office, you might be happy that we keep beer in the fridge! We’re located in the trendy Highlands area of Denver in an old home that has been converted to super cool office space.

    Who are we?

Think of the best things that come with working in a small company and a large one! Our parent company, RXO. (NYSE: RXO) is ranked as one of the largest logistics companies in North America. Our office culture, however, feels very small. We currently have a total of 15 people on our team.

RXO Freight Forwarding is the freight forwarding division of RXO. Our niche is working with companies that need value-added freight services because they have high value, time sensitive and/or delicate products.
