    Maumee Valley Country Day School seeks an outgoing relationship builder who can mentor, serve, and connect with a diverse international population. The ideal candidate is a bridge builder who appreciates the beauty of a diverse community and is committed to building understanding and a sense of belonging. Cultural competency, empathy, and understanding are paramount in this position.

    The International Program at Maumee Valley supports about 40 students who are residents of other nations, but are studying locally at Maumee Valley. Most of these students live in Dayal House, our on-campus residence for international students. Others are living with host families throughout the area

    The International Program Manager reports to the Director of International Programs and collaborates closely with the Dayal House Supervisor, Resident Life Associates, Dean of Students, Head of Upper School, faculty, and staff. As a full-time position, full employee benefits are offered.

    Key Responsibilities and Duties:

    The International Program Manager’s role is to ensure the safety and well-being of residential students while maintaining a quality of student life consistent with the philosophy and objectives of both the mission of the school and the residential program.

    Additionally, the International Program Manager’s role is to assist the Director of International Programs in executing the International Program in alignment with the philosophy and objectives of both the mission of the school and the International Program.

    Operations

    Provide daily supervision and transportation to students on a rotating basis, including nights, weekends, holidays, and break periods

    Oversee the schedule of RLA staff and subs, find or fill in coverage as needed

    Work with service companies - Culligan, washer/dryer - to service contracted appliances

    Assist with day-to-day Dayal House operations when needed, such as morning and/or evening supervision, sick student

    Report any issues arising within the RLA team to the Director of International Programs

    Meet with the Director of International Programs every week

    Meet with Director of International Programs & Head of Upper School every week

    Act as a first responder (phone or in-person) for emergencies with international students

    Collaborate with dining services to provide quality meals for international students

    Programs

    Collaborate with the Director of International Programs in planning and executing activities, including, but not limited to, on-campus events, shopping trips, city visits, museum and theater trips, and athletic events. Many of these activities will be on weekends, including several overnight trips

    Provide Resident Life Associates oversight and mentorship

    Assist with the planning and execution of weekend activities for Dayal students

    Assist with coordination of a regular schedule of parent communications and updates

    Monitor international student wellness

    Community Building

    Assist Director of International Programs with healthcare management

    Insurance

    Billing

    Assist Director of International Programs with orientation and onboarding of international students and families

    Provide oversight of international student academics (tracking, support, collaboration with advisors and parents)

    Coordinate a regular schedule of parent communications and updates

    In collaboration with the Director of International Programs, foster faculty and staff growth and development regarding international students and program

    Communicate weekly with international student parents (newsletter)

    Provide support to students as they integrate into the community

    Establish consistent relationships with students while maintaining professional boundaries

    Take advantage of informal opportunities to engage with students

    Skills and Competencies:

    Relationship builder

    Knowledge of diverse cultures and how to build relationships across cultures

    Ability to educate others on cultural differences and sensitivities

    Strong organizational skills

    Strong communication skills

    Credentials:

    Bachelor’s degree

    Work with diverse populations, ideally international students
