    Job Description

    The Software Test Intern will participate in the design, development, integration and testing of software systems for security products. Individual will work with product and development teams to identify test cases to meet project requirements. The Intern will work in a cross-functional team environment comprised of software engineers, software test engineering, and product managers and will be responsible for assigned software tasks from design through development, integration, and testing.

    Principal Responsibilities:

    • Participate in the development of either test automation, or supporting infrastructure, for a new product, a cloud-native security panel ecosystem.
    • Verification of automated test of software and embedded firmware platforms.
    • Evaluate results of repeatability and reliability studies.
    • Troubleshoot product and test equipment, propose and implement fixes.
    • Engage a data driven approach to product performance, trending reports, and analysis of test results.

    Learning Objectives:

    The Software Engineering Intern will partner closely with a staff mentor to build skills in software engineering, test automation, and test infrastructure. You will gain experience with software testing for new product development and working with seasoned software engineers in a professional environment.

    Qualifications

    • Must be pursuing BS Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or other technology-related field.
    • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
    • Software development experience in Python required.
    • Experience with CI/CD concepts including unit and integration test and automation of test procedures preferred.
    • Excellent analytical skills, including analysis of existing software code and utilization of software tools preferred.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both a technical and non-technical audience preferred.
    • Willingness and ability to take ownership and work independently in an organized and structured fashion required.
    • Knowledge of Agile development methods preferred.
    • Software experience with real-time embedded systems written in C / C++ using OOP principles preferred.
    • Experience in software development including Linux, Android OS, Azure preferred.
    • High level of self-motivation, a drive for self-development and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Additional Information

    The U.S. based hourly rate for this role is between $25.00 - $26.00/hour. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc.
