    Job Overview:

    We are seeking a highly skilled and board-certified Interventional Radiologist Physician to provide direct patient care. This position involves performing a variety of interventional radiology procedures, providing consultations, and participating in quality improvement activities. The role requires technical proficiency, adherence to established policies, and the ability to work effectively in both scheduled and on-call capacities. Physicians must arrive punctually for scheduled clinics, with their presence documented at the start time. They are required to see patients on-site in accordance with Rules and Regulations regarding clinic wait times and the completion of consults and orders. The contractor is responsible for notifying the COR monthly about any challenges in meeting these performance measures. Physicians should consult and instruct referring clinicians on the appropriate indications for interventional radiologic procedures, ensuring timely and effective work-ups. They will determine treatment plans and communicate these to referring clinicians, while also reviewing consults and next-day patient cases for at least two hours daily. Post-procedure evaluations, follow-up consultations on complications, and adherence to medication policies are essential, with no sample medications to be given to patients. Discharge education and follow-up instructions must be coordinated for emergency department patients. Physicians are expected to engage in continuous quality improvement activities, participate in committee meetings, and conduct peer reviews for approximately four hours each month. Additionally, they must comply with all patient safety and infection control standards, taking proactive measures to prevent medication errors, falls, and any patient injuries resulting from care delivery. Perform other duties assigned.

    Experience Requirements:

    • A minimum of 7 years of experience is required after completing medical education, including residency and fellowship training in interventional radiology. This experience should encompass a wide range of interventional procedures and demonstrate proficiency in the field.
    • Proven experience in interventional radiology procedures and patient care.
    • Physician(s) must have substantial experience in direct patient care, dedicating approximately 90-95% of their time to this role
    • Proficient in performing a comprehensive range of interventional radiology procedures, including angiography, cryoablation, balloon angioplasty/stent placement, line insertion, chemoembolization, IVC filter placement, cholecystostomy, vertebroplasty kyphoplasty, drain insertions, nephrostomy placement, embolization, radiologically inserted gastrostomy, thrombolysis, dialysis access and related interventions, biopsy
    • Experience in TIPS placement, radiofrequency ablation, biliary interventions, and endovenous laser ablation of varicose veins is required. The contractor's physician(s) must demonstrate substantial expertise in these procedures, along with a commitment to maintaining technical proficiency and adhering to established standards of care.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to perform complex procedures, stand for extended periods, and respond to emergencies.

    Education Requirements:

    • Board Certification in Radiology from the American Board of Radiology.
    • Hold a current, full, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or District of Columbia
    • Maintain up-to-date continuing education courses as required for certification.

    • Clinic Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm EST.
    • On-Call Coverage:
      • Weekday on-call from 4:30 pm – 8:00 am.
      • Weekend and holiday on-call coverage is 24 hours per day.
      • Available within 15 minutes by phone and on-site within 60 minutes for emergencies.
