Since 1996, Kiyonna Clothing, Inc. has been designing stylish, feel-good plus-size apparel, made proudly in the USA. Based in Southern California, we're a mission-driven brand that treats our team like family and puts passion, purpose, and a whole lot of heart into everything we do. If you're analytical, Excel-savvy, and love solving puzzles (and if you love fashion, that’s a plus—but not a must), this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
We are currently hiring an Inventory & Cost Analyst to help us manage and improve the financial backbone of our product development and inventory processes. This person will work cross-functionally with multiple teams, combining analytical skills with a strong understanding of budgets and controls. Apparel or product costing experience is a plus, but not required—we will provide hands-on training to the right candidate with a love for numbers and a drive for progress.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate go-live dates with retail partners, ensuring product uploads happen 5+ weeks in advance to launch in sync with Kiyonna.com
Monitor inventory movement and cutting ticket milestones; adjust dates, quantities, or cancel pending cuts as needed
Audit sales, returns, and stock levels to inform markdown strategies or price increases
Collaborate with Finance to manage rerun planning using a global rolling budget
Reconcile actual COGS vs. estimated costs each quarter and recommend pricing updates
Conduct inventory audits with the Shipping team within 21 days of analysis
Review return rates, customer comments, and product reviews across all sales channels; work with Product Development to suggest fit or design improvements
Track category counts in relation to spend, velocity, and margin to help optimize future assortments
Order fabric in advance for proven bestsellers and coordinate terms with Production
Review accessory and third-party inventory monthly for movement and margin
Analyze leftover fabric for possible use in future cuts
Evaluate shipping and return shipping costs, especially internationally (e.g., Canada), and factor them into extended cost analyses
Help set and track targets for raw materials and finished goods inventory levels
Work cross-functionally to communicate product launches and line changes to customer service, shipping, and marketing teams
Skills & Qualifications:
Advanced Excel skills required (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas); in-house training provided where needed—we're all Excel nerds here
Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through
Excellent communicator and collaborator
3+ years experience in cost accounting, inventory analysis, or financial planning preferred, but not necessary if underlying skills and aptitude are present
Solid understanding of budgets, forecasting, and cost controls
