Job Title: Inventory Management Analyst
Location: Kingston, RI
Our utility consulting client is looking for a full-time Inventory Management Analyst to support the Rhode Island Energy Advanced Meter Functionality Project. The project is deploying advanced metering functionality infrastructure which will require the installation of a Field Area Network to capture meter communications, followed by the deployment of advanced electric meters.
With a project deploying this much infrastructure, having the proper inventory levels on hand and located in the proper location is key. This role will monitor the full lifecycle of inventory from orders to receipt, to testing, to being deployed. The objective of this role is making sure there is enough inventory on hand for the field deployment activities to take place without interruption, while balancing budget costs and being able to report transparently on the current status.
This role will also support other areas of the project as needed.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Needs to be a self-starter that can operate in an ambiguous environment and drive towards desired outcomes
- Oversee effective management of necessary meter and network hardware supply and its distribution
- Oversee the ordering of meters, network equipment and various deployment support materials according to Project Plan and Deployment Plan
- Oversee process to order infrastructure consistent with deployment schedule.
- Coordinate with Deployment Lead to manage and update the detailed delivery schedule and plan
- Provide updated financial forecasts on meter and network equipment orders, working closely with Deployment Lead to meet budgetary objectives
- Build tools to report on inventory levels and statuses
- Review deliveries and any required sample testing of deliveries
- Build repeatable processes and analysis to quickly identify and resolve exceptions
- Provide services which result in deliverables being created and implemented
- Support the execution of deployment
- Develop and report out status as required by the client and project team
Skills:
- Must have:
- Ability to analyze data through various toolsets
- Ability to use Excel for data comparisons, use of pivot tables, data connections, etc
- Ability to develop PowerPoint decks
- Understanding of SharePoint and document management
- Nice to have:
- Ability to use Power BI or ability to write and execute SQL on a database
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1+ year of experience in a business or consulting environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools
- Experience with data analytics and presentment tools
