Title: Investment Accounting Associate - Private Equity & Real Assets (NYC, Hybrid)
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid – 3 days in the office)
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of third-party administrators to conduct analytical reviews of monthly and quarterly property financial statements.
- Convert property financials from tax/historical GAAP, IFRS, or other accounting bases to US GAAP.
- Prepare and review disposition gains, waterfall calculations, and promote allocations.
- Ensure proper accounting treatment for recognizing income and adhering to capitalization policies.
- Coordinate year-end property audits and assist with tax return preparation.
- Collaborate with deal teams, asset management, and operations to coordinate capital activity for acquisitions, dispositions, refinances, and various other capital calls and distributions.
- Support valuations and work closely with operating partners, audit firms, and fund accounting teams.
- Handle ad hoc projects and cross-departmental initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-6 years of relevant experience in real estate accounting, public accounting, or fund administration.
- Strong understanding of journal entries, financial statements, and financial reporting processes across various industries.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with relevant accounting systems is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in financial analysis and a strong attention to detail.
Compensation: $120,000 - $155,000, with additional incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
