Job Summary
We are looking for wonderful, compassionate caregivers to join our team as Personal Care Assistants (PCA) for a 40-year-old male power wheelchair user with muscle disease in the Irmo/Ballentine, South Carolina area. You will be directly working with him as a home health aide, following a one-on-one care plan in his home. Hoyer lift experience is preferred.
Job Responsibilities
Assist patient with necessary daily living activities, including dressing and personal care.
Perform Hoyer lift-transfers into and out of bed, as well as into and out of commode chair and wheelchair.
Care for patient by changing bed linens, doing laundry, and performing light housecleaning.
Keeping records of patient care, condition, progress, or problems to report and discuss observations with the supervisor.
Assist client with meal prep and light cooking.
Engage with patient in exercises or other physical fitness activities.
Drive patient to and from appointments and errands using patient's vehicle.
Shifts Needed (some flexibility)
Mon-Fri AM (3 hrs): ~9am-noon
Sat-Sun AM (2.5 hrs): ~9:30am-noon
Sat-Sun PM (2.5 hrs): ~7:30pm-10pm
Qualifications
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certificate or similar degree from an accredited nurse assistant program preferred
High School Diploma or GED required
One year prior professional experience preferred
Driver’s license and reliable transportation required
CPR certification required (or willing to complete)
