Job Purpose

The Irrigation Service Technician is a hands-on position repairing irrigation for commercial and residential landscape customers as well as certain planning, administrative and regulatory functions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Repair irrigation systems to perform properly
2. Install irrigation as needed
3. Load and unload heavy equipment and tools as needed
4. Schedule and monitor daily work loads
5. Bagged and Bulk Material Handling
6. Plan, coordinate, and collect equipment and materials each day
7. Attend and participate in crew and department general and safety meetings
8. Submit daily Boss Mobile timesheets and record materials used for billing
9. Administrative paperwork
10. Truck and trailer standardization and cleanliness, maintain inventory for irrigation vehicles
11. Safe driving of company owned vehicles (with or without trailers) and transporting crew members
12. Use of technology for communication
13. Communicate daily with Production Manager on progress and planning
14. Daily start up and shut down procedures

17. Maintain on site relations and communications with clients, contractors and/or subcontractors and internal customers

1. Safe operation and maintenance of the following equipment:

• Construction Equipment including trenchers, tamps, excavator, skid loader, boring equipment
• Electrical diagnostic equipment including locators, multi meter, fault finder
• Pressure washer
• Hand tools such as shovels, picks, rakes and pipe cutting tools (saws and pipe cutters)

1. Help in other divisions such as installation or floriculture as needed
2. Help with snow removal in the winter months

Required Skills

Requirements:

1. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
2. Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis
3. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
4. Ability to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns and other environmental risks
5. Must be able to work with minimal supervision
6. Must wear work boots, Bland landscaping uniforms and present yourself in a clean and professional manner
7. Must practice safety at all times
8. Must wear company provided PPE
9. Must have valid NC Driver’s license and maintain a good driving record
10. Must have good communication skills and ability to motivate others
11. Must be able to pass a criminal background check
12. Must comply with Bland’s policies and procedures
