Position Overview

Coffman Engineers’ Seattle office is seeking an innovative and quality-oriented Senior Electrical Engineer with over 8 years of professional experience. This role involves providing consulting services for internal and external clients, focusing primarily on industrial project design. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Industrial Systems: Power, Communications, Lighting, and Control Systems including:

• Medium and low voltage power distribution

• Emergency and standby power systems

• Grounding and controls

• Low voltage systems (Telecommunications, Security, CCTV, Access Controls)

• Conduct Electrical Power System Studies: Load studies, fault current analysis, coordination/arc flash hazard studies

• Develop Specifications and Construction Support:

• Review submittals and shop drawings

• Respond to contractor RFIs

• Perform site inspections

Qualifications

• Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

• Minimum 8 years of consulting Electrical Engineering experience

• Strong communication skills

• Knowledge of electrical codes (NEC, NESC, WAC) and standards (NFPA, IEEE)

• Preferred:

• Registration as a State of Washington Professional Engineer

• Experience with medium voltage power distribution and substation design

• Proficiency in grounding system design

• Industrial controls/SCADA experience

• Hazardous location design experience

• Familiarity with SKM or ETAP software for electrical power system studies

• Project management skills
