The intern will influence new ideas and innovative solutions through collaboration over the duration of the 12 week internship. This is a project based internship that will provide the intern with a realistic job preview of a full-time position with JOANN.The Inbound Transportation Intern will support the Transportation team initiatives to gather complete and quality data as it pertains to our domestic inbound shipments and report out at an Executive level on the findings of that data. The intern will meet with internal department SMEs to discover the multiple options for data collection and determine the optimal source(s) of data and if there are paths the improve the quality of that data. The intern will assist in development of analytical dashboards detailing various metric points and optimize 2-3 key metric points that will serve to benefit the overall inbound spend for the balance of the year. PRINCIPAL DUTIESDevelop a comprehensive understanding of all department's operations, processes, systemsPartner with team to execute business needsAssist in the trace and trace of inbound freight shipments from multiple vendor distribution centers to JoAnn distribution centers. Assist in analysis and monitoring of performance/KPIs of our current carrier base Structure and maintenance of load groups in the transportation management system (TMS)Assist with special projects and analysisKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESAbility to learn new concepts and skills quicklyStrong communication skills (verbal and written)EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEPursuing a bachelor degree in area of studyThis position will be located at:5555 Darrow Road Hudson, OH 44236JOANN is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
