Starting as a watch repair technician and renting a small section in a local Houston Flea Market led to Dang’s passion for creating a brand. His next business venture began with a location in Sharpstown Mall also in Houston Texas, and later a second store in the same mall. Johnny’s popularity and business tenacity forced other competing chained jewelry stores such as Zales to close their doors. On any given day; celebs, out-of-towners and the regular window shoppers flood his stores. Considered an architect of the entertainment industry’s fascination with “bling”, all of his creations are custom made and manufactured in house at their state-of-the-art jewelry workshop and repair facility. Known for his eclectic and over-the-top custom creations, customers can design and create their dream piece of jewelry. Starting with a consultation our designers, your idea is sketched and turned into drawing to help you create your custom piece. Johnny Dang and CO. on-site design department will develop your fine jewelry one-of-a-kind creation every step of the way. As one of the most respected and revered jewelers in the industry, Mr. Dang and many of his custom collections have adorned the pages of Hip Hop’s top magazines such as XXL, The Source and Ozone, his own reality and video show “The Johnny Dang and Paul Wall Show”, as well as featured on several episodes of MTV’s Super Sweet Sixteen, BET’S Spring Bling, and an introspective documentary centered around the controversy of diamond mines in Africa for MTV featuring Paul Wall and Talib Kweli. Today Mr. Dang along with his multi-platinum Hip Hop star partner Paul Wall, now have a third location in the signature luxury mall in Houston, Texas, The Galleria (next door to Neiman Marcus), over 50 wholesale accounts, a reality show, and a roster of celebrity clients that mirrors the red carpet at the Grammy Awards.
