Electrical Engineer - Jacksonville, FL

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, control, and IT/data systems for various building types.
• Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineering staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
• Perform load calculations, life cycle costing, and energy modeling to optimize system efficiency.
• Review the installation of designed equipment and systems to ensure compliance with construction documents.
• Prepare comprehensive construction cost estimates, covering both broad and detailed scopes.
• Assist in developing feasibility studies to assess project viability.
• Contribute to the development of contract specifications and research the application of new procedures and products.
• Communicate and coordinate with clients to develop project scopes, prepare proposals, oversee installations, and manage project budgets.
• Handle concurrent projects of varying types, scales, and complexity, ensuring timely delivery within established schedules.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in building design, layout, and analysis for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
• Professional Engineer (PE) Registration preferred
• Proficiency in Revit is preferred, but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of LEED principles and Electrical Codes.
• Required experience in institutional design.
• Willingness to travel to job sites and client offices as needed.
