JEI - Corporate Gaming Operations Analyst
GENERAL SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES
The Gaming Operations Analyst will support the analytical needs of executive management with additional support for the property Casino Operations teams. The candidate will focus on a diverse array of analytics including slot and table games performance, operations labor, casino marketing reinvestment, and property financial performance. This position will query data, create reports, and develop dashboards to help casino industry professionals make business decisions. The analyst will meet with casino executives, and leaders of the corporate team. Work will primarily be done using Cognos Analytics, SQL, Tableau, and MS Office and will involve a mix of recurring and ad hoc reports. The analyst will need to understand the gaming products offered by casinos.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Support corporate and property leaders by providing analysis and reporting on slot machine and table games performance, labor and scheduling, and casino profitability to improve overall casino profits and efficiency.
Analyze effects of machine changes, table games rules and side bets, floor location, market factors and service standards to improve management’s decision-making.
Prepare analyses and findings that identify, evaluate, and communicate business results, trends, and outlooks
Create reports and dashboards to standardize and automate metrics to be shared with corporate marketing peers and property counterparts
Extract and/or gather large amounts of data from multiple data sources
Understand property level daily reporting and related reporting metrics
Manipulate large datasets to merge data sources, ensure consistency, and prep data for reporting
Support analysis and projects in Gaming Operations (Slots and Table Games), Finance, Marketing, and Workforce Planning
Work with various business units to determine specific needs and implement those needs into various analyses
Work with the business to identify pertinent data within existing sources and conduct in-depth audits to ensure their accuracy
Working with the business in identifying and providing access to new & external data sources that enhance reporting and analytics
Developing automated, and in some cases real-time, casino operations and marketing reports and dashboards that help focus on what is important or what outliers require action
Deriving insight from the analytics and communicate insight narratives to senior leadership and peers
Training and coaching property counterparts in the full use of the BI tools to maximize its benefit
Create metrics and reporting to better understand direct marketing strategies, guide the team to achieve maximum response rates at optimal reinvestment rates, and to drive engagement and wallet share
Monitor results of business initiatives to develop best practices and improvement action plans
Support the preparation of analysis, commentary, and presentation materials for department and property reviews including both financial results and business initiatives
Collaborate with Operations teams to standardize reporting and automate reports if possible
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, as well as outside contacts

SKILLS, EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in quantitative field. Master's Degree preferred
Work experience in analytics and gaming including experience working with data/creating reports
Experience communicating complex analytical results to all levels of employees within an organization.
Experience in operations analytics across multiple business units
Knowledge of data structures, systems and BI tools / capabilities
Skills with Cognos Analytics, MicroStrategy, VizExplorer and Tableau
SQL (ability to interact with data in large databases through direct SQL command line syntax)
MS Office Products experience (ability to manage data/reports in Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to understand business problems and how they may be solved
Strong analytical skill and aptitude for working with data and logical thinking
Attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
Ability to write detailed reports and correspondence.
