Located in the seasonal Alaskan cruise ship port of Skagway, the Skagway Brewing Company is an expansive three story building featuring an on-site microbrewery, retail store, restaurant, pub, and beer garden totaling seating for up to 375. Plus we take pride in our sustainability efforts - we have a year-round indoor aeroponic "farm" where we grow all of our own leafy greens & culinary herbs. And the harvest yield of this produce is boosted by the carbon dioxide released from the brewing process which we capture and send via pipes over to the garden. Neat stuff!

Job Summary (Janitor: 1 Full Time and 1 Part Time, Seasonal)

The janitor is responsible for cleanliness of the interior and exterior building and grounds, outside of business hours.

This is a seasonal position running mid-April through mid-October, based on the busyness of the cruise ship season

Full-time: 5-6 nights/week

Part-time: 2-3 nights/week

Hours vary between 7pm - 2am and 10pm - 5am

Responsibilities

Sweeping, mopping and occasional polishing of all bar, dining, bathroom, kitchen floors and stairwells, using broom, mop, rags, floor scrubber and/or mop machine equipment

Vacuuming and dusting

Cleaning and restocking bathrooms

Cleaning windows/mirrors

Daily sanitization of all door knobs, light switches, handrails

Detail cleaning

Front- and Back-of-House laundry (towels, aprons, cleaning rags, etc)

Removal of trash, cardboard and/or recyclables if necessary

Routine stocking, cleaning and upkeep of janitorial closets, equipment and tools

Qualifications

Possess thorough attention to detail

Ability to work odd hours, such as late/overnight

Reliable, trustworthy and motivated to work efficiently with limited to no supervision

Ability to work on your hands, and knees, on ladders, and lift large boxes weighing 40-50+ lbs
