We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Working Janitorial Supervisor to lead and participate in the custodial operations at Jefferson Lab. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills, a strong background in custodial practices, and the ability to maintain the Department of Energy’s high standards for cleanliness and safety. Paid Holidays, Vacation, and Sick Days. Schedule: Monday - Friday: 6:30 am - 3:30 pm. Estimated 40 hours per week. Responsibilities: • Read and interpret contract requirements to ensure compliance. • Oversees staff performance and ensures all assignments are completed in accordance with assigned schedule. • Train employees in custodial procedures, safety standards, and the use of tools and equipment. • Apply and enforce safety standards and policies for all custodial staff. • Respond to customer complaints and requests in a timely and caring manner. • Cleaning tasks include office/restroom cleaning, trash removal, sweeping/mopping, vacuuming, event set-ups, and other miscellaneous cleaning tasks. Qualifications: • Documented experience as a Custodial Supervisor in a commercial environment. • Proficiency in proper custodial procedures, including the use of cleaning tools, machines, and chemicals. • Strong organizational and effective communication skills. • Demonstrated ability to train, supervise, and manage custodial teams. • Experience in creating and implementing action plans to address findings and improve processes. • Physical Demands: Constant (up to 100%) standing, walking, pushing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching overhead, reaching forward. Must be able to lift and/or carry 25 lbs. • Ability to read cleaning instructions and to differentiate between cleaning products and their uses. • Fully conversant in English. • Must have own transportation and valid driver’s license. • Pass JLAB training requirements and background check. • HUBZone certified preferred, but not required. Compensation: $22 - $24 hourly
