Essential Functions
Clinical Practice
Directs and coordinates emergency care provided within the department.
Directs department functions.
Directs department functions ∙ Assists Director with coordination and completion of employee orientation process.
Maintains equipment.
Implements and maintains infection control measures.
Monitors employee productivity.
Oversees working scheduling.
Assists with quality improvement efforts.
Complies with hospital, State, Federal and JCAHO regulations.

Procures and distributes medication from secure locations per work assignment according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
Maintains credential appropriate for the Emergency Department (ACLS, BLS & PALS).

Assist with staff selection and development.

Contributes to assisting with decreasing overtime.
Assists in finding cost reductions within the department.
Provides in-services to staff as needed.
