GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE
Responsible for the daily set up and operation of translicer blades, bin dumpers, and A.R.T machine to ensure the production of Safe, Quality, Food.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION
- Remove bin liners from bin dumpers and conveyors
- Operate bin dumper, translicer, and A.R.T. in a manner that balances product flow to trim lines and limits spillage or product loss
- Inspect translicer blades for proper cut, blade damage, or possible contamination.
- Inspect all equipment to ensure it is in good operating order, and all safety sensors, guards, emergency pull cords, and emergency stop button are functioning properly
- Complete required inspection forms
- Notify supervisor of malfunctioning equipment or blade damage
- Monitor raw product flow for non-product objects
- Wash tanks, shaker, conveyor belts and translicer blades. Application of chemical (quat) may be required
- Ability to use pallet jack to move product from location to another
- Pay close attention and remain alert to foreign objects and contaminants that may be in the product
- Keep floors and machines clear of debris and excess water
- Any and all other duties assigned by your Supervisor

EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience in a food processing facility is desired, but not required
- Willing to train
- Must have knowledge of our manufacturing processes
SKILLS:
- Must have good oral and written communication skills
- Must be a self-starter, possess initiative, and be able to analyze problems and troubleshoot product flow and equipment issues
ADDITIONAL:
- Hands-on ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented food processing environment
- Required to work independently and with limited supervision
- Must be able to maintain regular and acceptable attendance, follow directions, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow posted work rules/ procedures

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed in a cool environment with an average temperature of 34 degrees F. Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia is present. Work surfaces and floors are wet. Employees are required to wear approved shoes and protective equipment. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. unassisted up to 1/3 of the workday, and 10 lbs. overhead as job demands. Constant standing on a concrete floor, reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements may be required. Moving machinery, including conveyor and forklifts are in operation in the immediate area.
