    Job Coach- Meaningful Day Counselor, 1:1 position Location: Chicopee, MA

    Pay:$19 per hour Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm

    Summary of Position: The Job Coach-Meaningful Day Counselor is responsible for coordinating and implementing community based recreational activities and vocational exploration opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities, specifically 1:1 with a client. The Counselor will use a variety of settings to assist individuals in furthering skills such as socialization, relationship building, communication and self-advocacy. The Meaningful Day Counselor must have strong oral and written communication skills. This position often involves working independently in a community setting with multiple individuals and requires good judgement to intervene and respond to incidents and emergency situations.

    Responsibilities:

    Provide 1:1 services with a client.

    Model treatment interventions established by an individuals’ treatment team as documented in the Individual Service Plan.

    Provide specific interventions in the vocational and community settings as outlined in the treatment plan.

    Develop progress notes describing each individual’s contact and how that contact relates to treatment goals.

    Collaborate with other members of the treatment team and other professionals including participation in treatment planning meetings.

    Participate with and monitor the activities of work crews engaged various vocational exploration opportunities.

    Supervising and participating in events alongside program participants.

    Access or develop evidence-based curriculum to utilize in facilitating regular educational training opportunities for program participants.

    Provide transportation to individuals in the program.

    Collaborating with staff and clinicians to understand the ways in which activities can promote healing and belonging.

    Conducting needs assessments to ascertain physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities.

    Determining individual interests and expectations regarding leisure time.

    Overseeing the use of available daily activity funds.

    Developing an activities program that is both sufficiently diverse and sensitive to our participants’ needs.

    Coordinating the availability of needed supplies for all activities.

    Compiling periodic reports that outline successes, constraints, and the way forward.

    Any other tasks assigned by program management.

    Minimum Requirements:

    Previous experience in human services or education

    Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation

    High School Diploma or GED (Associate’s Degree Preferred)
