Job Summary: The Youth Job Developer is responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with employers to secure job opportunities for youth participants in Workforce Solutions programs. This role involves assessing the needs of both employers and youth participants, coordinating job placements, and providing career guidance to ensure successful outcomes. The Youth Job Developer plays a critical role in supporting young individuals in their career development and facilitating their transition into the workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employer Engagement:
* Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community stakeholders to develop job opportunities for youth participants.
* Promote Workforce Solutions programs to employers and educate them on the benefits of hiring youth participants.
* Collaborate with employers to identify their workforce needs and create tailored employment opportunities.
- Participant Support:
* Work with youth participants to understand their career goals, skills, and needs.
* Match youth participants with appropriate job opportunities, internships, or training programs.
* Provide guidance on resume building, interview preparation, and workplace expectations.
- Program Coordination:
* Coordinate with Workforce Solutions staff to identify eligible youth participants and track their progress.
* Monitor job placements and provide ongoing support to both employers and youth participants to ensure successful outcomes.
* Address any issues or challenges that arise during employment or training placements.
- Data Management and Reporting:
* Maintain accurate records of employer contacts, job opportunities, and participant placements.
* Prepare reports on job development activities, outcomes, and program metrics.
* Ensure compliance with program guidelines and funding requirements.
- Community Outreach:
* Represent Workforce Solutions at job fairs, community events, and employer meetings.
* Collaborate with community organizations and educational institutions to expand the reach of youth programs.
* Advocate for youth employment and highlight the importance of workforce development.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, social work, human resources, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
* At least 1-2 years of experience in job development, workforce services, or a related field.
* Experience working with youth or in youth programs is highly desirable.
- Skills:
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
* Organizational and time-management skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management systems.
