** What You Will Do :**
The Hospital Admissions Representative is responsible for gathering and verifying information about patients, their insurance benefits, and eligibility. They also assign the appropriate medical record and account number, ensuring accurate billing and clinical information.
Schedule: Part-time position working the Graveyard Shift (NIGHTS), three weekends a month, and holidays.
Please note that the schedule may be adjusted based on the needs of the business and patient volume.
Duties (include but not limited to):
Gather complete and accurate demographic and financial information from various sources, including patient interviews, physician offices, and in-house departments.
Obtain necessary signatures on legal consents and insurance forms.
Perform pre-certifications, credit referrals, or collect deposits.
Enter data into the computer system and document any incomplete admissions/registrations.
Notify patients, family members, physicians, and supervisors about insurance coverage issues, co-payments, deductibles, or deposits.
Review physician's orders for completion and ensure all required information is included.
Complete Medicare Compliance requirements and obtain ABN if necessary.
Stay updated on all federal, state, and local insurance rules and regulations.
Maintain multiple computer systems.
Provide excellent customer service and escalate unresolved issues to a supervisor.
Answer telephone calls and assist callers following a pre-established script.
Complete all shift duties in a timely and accurate manner.
Comply with safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
** What You Will Need :**
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical setting or a customer service environment involving data entry, insurance, or other online websites, and software applications.
Ability to type at least 35 CWPM.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff.
Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs.
Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Professional demeanor in a high-stress environment.
Ability to handle pressure and complaints.
Professional appearance and conduct.
** What Would Be Nice To Have :**
The annual salary range for this position is $37,300.00-$55,900.00. Compensation decisions are based on factors including skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and business and organizational needs.
