Key Responsibilities of the Journeyman Plumber
Installation & Maintenance
- Perform installations of pipes, fixtures, and plumbing components following safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Conduct inspections to diagnose and resolve plumbing issues efficiently.
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes and regulatory requirements.
Project Preparation
- Pre-measure job sites for proper planning and efficient installations.
- Maintain a clean, organized worksite and ensure the work truck is stocked and ready.
Customer Service
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding repairs, pricing, and maintenance recommendations.
- Provide exceptional service to ensure client satisfaction and build trust.
Code Compliance
- Verify all installations and repairs adhere to local plumbing codes and industry standards.
Qualifications of the Journeyman Plumber
- Licensing : Valid plumbing license in St. Louis County.
- Experience : 3–5 years in the plumbing industry, specializing in installations and repairs.
- Technical Skills : Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge : Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and compliance standards.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise tasks.
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and depth perception.
