Responsibilities: • Assist clients in determining a proper solution to legal conflicts and determine the best course of action • Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice • Organize and maintain files to ensure accuracy for other attorneys, paralegals, and staff • Collaborate with clients and senior associates and other staff to move cases toward resolution efficiently • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings • Develop and independently execute tactical and strategic case decisions • Working substantive knowledge of business and commercial litigation issues • Advanced legal writing ability • Preparation and arguing of dispositive motion and evidentiary hearing • Trial of non-jury cases; jury trials a plus • Offer guidance and direction to junior attorneys and staff Qualifications: • Effective communication skills and problem-solving skills are necessary to work with all levels of staff and clients • Applicants must have successfully passed the state bar exam • Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base • Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA) • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school • Must be a member of The Florida Bar in good standing. • Must be admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida Compensation: $180,000 total compensation
