    FULL TIME BOOK KEEPER JOB DESCRIPTION

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and a proven track record of developing and maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records. This is a dynamic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who is passionate about ensuring the financial integrity of our non-profit organization.

    Duties:

    • Proper finance and accounting database record keeping and management including data entry, scanning, printing, copying, storing and retrieving safe accounting data.
    • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, trial balances, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Conduct account analysis and reconciliation, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
    • Manage and process payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payments to employees.
    • Maintain accurate and organized accounting records, including general ledger entries and journal entries.
    • Reconcile bank statements, ensuring the accuracy of our financial records.
    • Analyze and report on financial trends and variances, providing insights for business decision-making.
    • Assist to prepare and submit tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
    • Use accounting software, such as Financial Edge, to track and manage financial transactions and accounts.
    • Collaborate with management to develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
    • Assist with auditing. Ensure compliance with all financial and accounting regulations and standards.
    • Any other tasks required.

    Skills:

    • Proficiency in accounting principles and practices, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience with financial accounting software, Microsoft 365 and Excel.
    • Ability to prepare and review financial statements.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Knowledge of grants and non-profit accounting laws and regulations is plus.
    • Experience with bank reconciliation and account analysis, AP and AR.
