FULL TIME BOOK KEEPER JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and a proven track record of developing and maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records. Duties:
- Proper finance and accounting database record keeping and management including data entry, scanning, printing, copying, storing and retrieving safe accounting data.
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, trial balances, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct account analysis and reconciliation, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Manage and process payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payments to employees.
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records, including general ledger entries and journal entries.
- Reconcile bank statements, ensuring the accuracy of our financial records.
- Analyze and report on financial trends and variances, providing insights for business decision-making.
- Assist to prepare and submit tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Use accounting software, such as Financial Edge, to track and manage financial transactions and accounts.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
- Assist with auditing. Ensure compliance with all financial and accounting regulations and standards.
- Any other tasks required.
Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting principles and practices, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with financial accounting software, Microsoft 365 and Excel.
- Ability to prepare and review financial statements.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of grants and non-profit accounting laws and regulations is plus.
- Experience with bank reconciliation and account analysis, AP and AR.
