Windstar Homes is an award-winning premier custom homebuilder in the Tampa Bay area. We are looking for a Junior Construction Estimator with a minimum of 2 years of experience in residential construction to join our team. Custom home-building experience is preferred.

Responsibilities include:

Assist in the preparation of take-offs and estimates for new home designs.

Monitor competitive bidding, contract negotiations, and value engineering.

Stay current on innovative products, construction techniques, and trends affecting the home building industry.

Assist with document control

Establish and maintain a Product Database and Price Book.

Assist in preparing thorough, accurate purchase orders within allotted time frames.

Perform cost comparisons and analysis as requested.

Monitor all plan changes.

Estimate prices of all changes and provide written descriptions of Change Orders.

Recruit and maintain relationships with quality, reliable trade contractors and suppliers.

Troubleshoot problems with trade contractors and suppliers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.

Ability to interpret technical drawings, calculate quantities, and analyze cost data.

High level of accuracy in data entry and cost calculations.

Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to gather information and clarify project details.

Familiarity with construction estimating software (e.g., Procore, PlanSwift).
