POSITION SUMMARY The Junior Loan Associate is responsible for maintaining standard operating processes on all loans funded and services within Blueprint Capital Income REIT, Inc. Once trained in the above processes, work in conjunction with our Acquisitions Team to document, fund and manage all loans within their assigned customer groups and to aid other customer groups during PTO. This position has a three-tier range of expertise.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Process all aspects of loan operations including generation of loan documents, booking loans, posting of payments, payoffs, draw requests, collateral management, post-closing functions, document imaging and exception tracking. • Act as back-up for other Loan Servicing Associates and/or other team members, when employees are absent. • Provide support to the Acquisitions Team in conjunction with purchase & sale agreement, legal entity reviews, escrow items, etc. for closing requirements. • Mentor and develop expertise of junior team members providing them a higher level of expertise. • Work with internal Acquisitions Team to remedy deficiencies or issues discovered during the analysis of loans ensuring completeness and accuracy of all documents. • Possess or engage in learning a working knowledge of real estate lending and processes.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY • Establish good working relationships with other team members. Help mentor and develop more junior team members. • Foster positive communications and relationships with Vendors, Builders, and various Associates. • Adhere to company policies and procedures. • Actively participate in meetings as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS • Good interpersonal skills and team orientation, skilled in problem solving and customer service. • 1–5 years in real estate related industry positions • Ability to maintain confidentiality of credit and customer information. • Undergraduate degree in Business or Accounting or equivalent related work experience. • Ability to identify construction loan risks and present solutions to mitigate risks on all project types. • Requires understanding of internal loan operation functions and real estate lending. • Process and prioritize multiple tasks and large volumes under firm deadlines. • Manage details, approach work in a highly systematic way and have a high commitment to accuracy. • Proficient in basic software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel. • Has the ability to learn unique loan systems and processes. • Ability to execute with limited supervision required. • Must be eligible for employment under regulatory standards applicable to the position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. • Frequently standing, walking, and sitting. • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds. • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds. • Must be able to work at computer or desk area for extended periods of time. • Must be able to use a computer and see color.
