    Job Description

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Create occupational therapy session plans

    • Report on quarterly progress for students with IEPs

    • Take data during occupational therapy sessions

    • Run individual and small-group occupational therapy sessions

    • Support with self-care skills in conjunction with occupational therapy goals

    • Consult for students as requested in the general and special education setting

    • Collaborate with supervising occupational therapist to assist with evaluations

    General Requirements and Responsibilities

    KIPP MA staff are supported in their demanding work by experienced and dedicated leadership and staff who have themselves proven successful in their role. Our KIPP MA Executive Leadership Teams maintain consistent systems and procedures designed to permit staff to do their best work.

    In addition to the responsibilities listed above, there will occasionally be other duties as assigned that staff will engage in to help promote a positive and safe learning environment and culture.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Example: Include, but are not limited to:

    • Ability to stand frequently

    • Ability to lift 25-50 pounds

    • Ability to bend, twist, and perform repetitive hand and arm motions

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • If applying as an OT, Masters is required.

    • If applying as an OTA, Associate’s degree is required

    • Have or be in pursuit of a MA license from the Board of Allied Health or hold a license as a certified occupational therapy assistant.

    • Certification by NBCOT

    • Experience as a school-based occupational therapist including knowledge of IEPs and 504s, and relevant federal and MA education laws, regulations and AOTA guidelines.

    • Computer literacy and baseline familiarity with Google Suite

    • Pass Criminal Background Checks

    What We Offer

    The minimum salary for this exempt position is $62,000 as an Occupational Therapist Assistant and a $65,000 starting salary as an Occupational Therapist. The role includes a $1,000 signing bonus—and an annual $2,000 retention bonus in subsequent years, as well as other bonuses, when eligible.
