The Kentucky Association of Meat Processors (KAMP) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Master Butcher to join our team. The Master Butcher will be responsible for developing, assessing, and implementing training programs for meat processing facilities across Kentucky. This role requires extensive knowledge of meat processing techniques, a passion for training, and a commitment to elevating the industry’s standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Program Development & Implementation: Design, develop, and implement comprehensive training programs tailored to the needs of meat processing facilities. These programs should focus on both technical butchery skills and safety protocols, ensuring high-quality standards are consistently met.
Onsite Training Delivery: Conduct hands-on training sessions at various facilities throughout Kentucky. These trainings will typically involve new hires but may also include continuing education for seasoned employees.
Needs Assessment: Assess the specific training needs of individual facilities, taking into account the facility's workforce, equipment, and processing techniques. Customize programs to address any gaps in knowledge or skills.
Mentorship & Support: Provide ongoing support to trainees and staff in meat processing facilities, offering guidance, feedback, and mentorship to ensure optimal performance.
Collaboration with Facility Management: Work closely with facility managers to ensure that training programs align with company goals, industry standards, and local regulations.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and update training materials, methods, and approaches to maintain the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in the meat industry and agricultural-based knowledge.
HACCP certification required.
Experience in various roles within a meat processing facility.
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation processes.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to complete all responsibilities independently.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift over 50 lbs.
Strong communication skills, with comfort in speaking to groups and facilitating training sessions.
Regular travel required, including overnight stays within the state of Kentucky.
Compensation:
Compensation will be competitive with like positions and dependent on the successful candidate’s experience.
Relocation is not covered.
