    Job Description

    As the Speech-Language Pathologist at Albany Community Charter School, you will ensure that all students, including students with specific communication challenges, experience a joyful, engaging, and rigorous learning environment every day. You will model and inspire a love of learning that will equip each student to succeed in school and thrive in life. You will be part of a results-oriented and collaborative team of professionals who are relentless in their pursuit of educational excellence. You will receive regular coaching and feedback, and will have opportunities to grow into a transformative leader within the organization.

    Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Build strong relationships with students and their families to support students’ academic, social, and emotional success;

    • Fully implement student mandated communication goals and services;

    • Provide speech-language therapy according to students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in both individual and group settings;

    • Complete language evaluations and present findings at Special Education eligibility meetings;

    • Collaborate with teaching and student support staff regarding student progress and programming;

    • Be an active participant in the school-based support team to ensure student progress through the right supports and interventions.

    • Hold a commitment to solutions-based problem solving and previous experience of such; and

    • Hold a valid New York State Speech-Language Pathology License and a graduate degree in speech-language pathology or communication disorders from a New York State registered licensure qualifying program, a program accredited by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), or the equivalent.
